Initially my tumblr account was created to serve as an online hard drive. i post stuff, and it instantly becomes a back up file.
but as the time goes by and my time spent on tumblr increases significantly, i begin to think not just about what i have to post, but what have my followers got to say with what i post. it’s not like i have heaps of followers, but a couple of likes, or a short comment on a post encourages me to post something else that these people might like as well. however, it doesn’t follow that i go against my personal rule of posting only what i wrote or what i created, and only what is applicable to me. No reblogs.
and this is why i don’t have heaps of posts in a day. i don’t even reach a hundred posts in a month. and among those posts, only a fraction receives some notice, and the others just get drowned in the dash. Good thing that some of my friends on facebook take time to to read my tumblr entries and at least i get additional likes and comments on my synched post on facebook.
But anyway, i’m still that anonymous bugoyprince. my posts stay, with or without an audience. And i couldn’t care much, for what i post is more of a satisfaction of self-expression and stress relief.
btw, i am so happy to hear that i have avid readers somewhere out there, i’d never expect them to be reading my posts, (and i didn’t even know how they found out about my blog) but apparently they do read it! And they make comments too! it’s just a shame they can’t post it here nor tell it to my face! :D
It was just my in wishful thinking before, that if i want to see where else a photo is present and published, it would be as easy as googling it.
And much to my surprise! it really is as easy as googling it!
"One way to find the origin of an image is to drag and drop a photo into Google Image search. (It’s a pretty awesome feature that can show you all the places the image exists on the web… You’re often likely to find the creator of the image pretty quickly that way. If your browser can’t drag & drop, you can also paste an img URL or upload the image right into the Google image search bar.” -Tom Anderson of MySpace
I obviously tried it that’s why i am writing this post cause i am very impressed by this feature on Google. :)
Dubai seems to be very quiet tonight, or is it just the area where i reside. well, in any case, there seems to be little activity on the road and on the parking lot just in front of my balcony.
And as i am writing this tumblr entry i am trying to figure out how i will be squeezing in everything that i should accomplish for this month alone, i have no plans of worrying what is up for next month yet, but i’m sure i’ll be loaded.
First up is something i can’t openly discuss to the public yet. Just please pray that i’ll go through everything well and that’s the time you’ll be hearing from me about it. haha. Well this is something that i want and i have been working hard for it.
Second thing is for the approval of my Australian Visa. It has been long since i last visited my sister, and this time i’m planning to stay for at least 10 days, unlike the usual 30 hours layover on a Melbourne flight duty. i submitted my application last October 6 and i was informed that it takes about 2-3 weeks to process everything and they are going to send me a message for the collection of the visa.
Third issue is something about money which would be very inappropriate to discuss to a mob of anonymity.
Well i hope i’d be able to sort things out. And hopefully i’d perform well in whatever i am going through. Well some things are just to raw to be dealt with right now, and needs a bit more time for i to enjoy them, just as how i’d like my pizza would be like, crispy, baked to perfection. Speaking of pizzas, dinner is served!
Since i have been posting a lot about food in my blog, i had this idea of posting my favorite places to eat. And though i have other places that i often order food from, i decided to just feature five of them. But this is not an over-all unbiased ranking with criteria as to which are the best restaurants, but more of a personal decision based mainly on the food that they serve which just so happened to tickle my tastebuds.
IKEA FOOD HALL
And the only thing i always eat is this shawarma, though the price is now 5 dirhams, which is still worth the price, since shawarma from other restaurants also ranges from 5-7 dirhams. A lot of street shawarmas are equally nice and cheap as well, but since this is inside a mall, and it is an actual shop, no need to be paranoid about the hygienic preparations and all. I usually buy three of them and then im stuffed!
CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN
Pictured above is my favorite sandwich from CPK, the CRANBERRY WALNUT CHICKEN SANDWICH IN GARLIC CHEESE FOCACCIA BREAD with Caesar Salad on the side. This is one of those pigging out moments that i don’t feel guilty about since i know what i’m eating is something healthy, but then again, we always go for the SICILIAN PIZZA right after the sandwich and that doesn’t make it any healthier now.lol.. :D
P.F. CHANG’S CHINA BISTRO
Now here is what i am always excited about whenever we eat at P.F. Chang’s, the CHICKEN LETTUCE WRAPS. Then i rarely order the OOLONG MARINATED CHILEAN SEA BASS because it’s quite pricey among the other food they offer, but i will have to say that it is my favorite. Other mainstays on the table include the dynamite scallops, and the sweet chili prawns. Yum yum!
This is probably my most visited restaurant in dubai since it is very close to where i live. And they mostly offer indonesian food and that is why i wonder why they couldn’t name it Indonesia Deli instead. Well anyway, its probably where i have tasted the best NASI GORENG there is! and a lot of other food they serve give me feelings of nostalgia, its as if i am back in indonesia. Other favorites are the BATAGOR, NASI LEMAK and SOP BONTUT.
The restaurant gives you the feeling of eating in Thailand, for the place serves authentic Thai dishes, and most of them are simply amazing like these Prawns cooked in coconut milk and God know whatever else is in there.
And they simply call it “Canonball Run” as some of their menu items are named after movies but the funnier names are those that maybe a little bit suggestive of something else, like FUK MI, FUK YU, THUNDER DOWN UNDER and SIX INCHES OF GLORY. Not to mention the very nice interior they have in the restaurant, which is why even if this restaurant sits in the middle of nowhere, people still come to dine in.
I am hungry and i am craving for something i love eating but i haven’t eaten for a long time. I guess it’s time for SINGAPORE DELI :) Weird thing is that most of their food is indonesian. Well i can’t really complain for they have a lot of scrumptious meals. I will have to say that this mini resto makes it in my top 5 places to eat in Dubai. Hmm, I should make a post about those 5. :) Well for now i will go eat, and will post photos later :) Ciao!
I get it. you buy expensive stuff and you may have afforded to get some piece of jewelry i wouldn’t even get my hands on. Can you be considered rich?
Well being rich or not isn’t what this essay is going to be solely about. Besides, who cares if you are wealthy as hell, if the people around you don’t benefit from it. Not that they are parasitically involved with you, but more of a question on you being a useful member of the society.
While some people need money to sustain the needs of their family, some just need to sustain their ego and pride. I don’t care what you do with your money as long as its not something you gained from others’ expense.
How on earth did you get filthy rich? If it is because of hard work, kudos to you! if it is because of luck, then you are one blessed person. But if it is what you can refer to as an ill-gotten wealth, then maybe you may have to think about the people who would have made a better use for that money that you use to procure more wealth that you don’t actually need, nor deserve in the first place, before you get yourself a sip of a lifestyle that you obviously don’t fit in.
The real socialites won’t talk about price tags nor brag about brands. They carry themselves too well that you will automatically assume that what they wear or what they carry with them must be something fancy. besides, they got used to buying expensive stuffs that they don’t really care about how much they cost anymore. Unlike a few who would have made a jackpot and bought themselves what seems to be something exorbitant and they have to get those many-digit-figure of money on parade. Well just being proud of your achievement (good or bad ) is understandable but being to flashy about it is quite different and would raise any critic’s eyebrow.
But what is the real deal? Truth is it shouldn’t really matter if you are wearing a Dior or sporting an Hermes accessory. People will think what they want to think. I can wear a class A Dolce jacket and pull it off because i am comfortable in it, and my face wont show that i worry whether people will figure it out or not. I buy stuff that i like, no matter what brand it is, and what i can afford. Afford: meaning having to spend the money i have in excess after i have allotted the right amount to my other expenditures and obligations. I won’t get myself a rolex watch if i won’t be able to enroll for the following semester in the university.
Just know your priorities. Spend what you have and spend only what you deserve to spend. :)
With the coming of Iphone 4s. I suddenly thought of looking back at the past cellphones i have owned. They all mean so much to me and all of them are still existent and most of them working well, except for the first two which are non-functional already.
NOKIA 8850 - My first ever phone. My parents bought me this in 2001 which i have used for almost 8 years until it shut itself down. and now its dead.
SAMSUNG D820 - My mobile phone which i lost in a taxi but i still managed to get it back. Bought it in 2006, and it lasted until 2009.
SAMSUNG D830 - when i went to dubai in Feb 2008, i bought this phone to use with my Dubai number. The minute i saw it, i chose it, for it matches with our old FA uniform. All phone functions still work properly apart from the slight defect with the camera (some weird glare pattern appears on some photos). I lent this to my brother Gian who has this thing about losing items. :D
HTC TOUCH PRO - the first touch screen phone that i owned. I bought this around March 2009. I loved using it (with my dubai number) as a handheld computer but now there seems to be something wrong with the screen and so i have to have it checked.
IPHONE 3GS - sometime in Oct 2009 i bought this phone so that i could pair it up and synchronize with my laptop. Up to now its the one i am using with my Philippine number and it still works perfectly for me! (thanks to the now late mr. Steve Jobs)
SAMSUNG C3050 - at the time that my HTC wasn’t working well, maybe some time in December 2009, i bought this so that i could still use my dubai number. i only used it for a few months, then gave it to my sister which she used for her other sim card.
BLACKBERRY STORM 2 - In may 2010, I applied for a post paid line with an international blackberry service and bought this phone. I still am using this with my dubai number together with my old Iphone in which my Philippine number remained inserted.
*noticed that i never owned a candy bar type mobile phone? its just that i don’t want any keypad exposed when a phone is in my pocket.
i don’t shop a lot and i rarely like something when i shop. and when i like something, i really want it to be mine. It may not be very obvious in the photo but that jacket on the lower right is an attention seeker. i was so gonna buy that jacket (in black) but one problem is, they only tailored it for a typical Filipino physique which is a bit shorter on the sleeves and a bit more narrow on the shoulders. and that’s already their XL size. I asked the sales lady to check if there will be any bigger size elsewhere, and much to my surprise, that is the bigger size they ever made.. T_T poor me..
Mapa Pulitiko or TV Network.
btw, this is my first pure tagalog blog entry. hahahaha
I hail from Malolos City in Bulacan where the area is relatively higher than the other towns in Bulacan. I thank God that we are not affected by the on-going rising of flood water in the province, however, it’s not a complete relief for me that our house remains steadfast and dry while a lot of my friends from other places face the difficulty of not being able to sleep comfortably at night because they just don’t have any bed to sleep on because the flood has had them soaked.
Some questions i’ve always asked myself is that, will this be the annual condition of those areas during rainy season? will they always experience massive flooding everytime the water reservoirs need to release water? hasn’t anybody thought of a solution to this perennial problem? or probably suggestions to solve this problem may have been made, but will they ever be put into action?
For now I continue to pray that the water may stop rising, and better yet, for the floods to cease. and for all the people affected, hold on to your faith, and trust in the goodness of mankind, i’m sure a lot are willing to help.
with all the food and toxins i’ve been ingesting, my body needs to do something beneficial for itself, such as a good exercise, however, i’m just to lazy to do some stationary exercises, thus prohibiting myself from going for a good workout at a gym.
It’s a good thing though that my feet have gotten the hots for a nice bicycle ride. and it isn’t just a short ride, but a rigorous long one. for people who know the Bulacan region very well, i used to ride my bike from Malolos to Meycauayan and back. The only stop over i get is a water break when i reach Meycauayan.
i’m sorry i cannot express the distance in figures for i am a really bad person to ask for distances. what seems to be a kilometer walk for me might be a 10 kilometer walk for the others. (my close friends know that). but to give you an idea, i have to cross 5 towns to get there.
and so tomorrow, i have decided to go for a bike ride. i cant go anywhere far this time though because of the unpredictable weather, plus some areas might still be flooded, and i don’t really want to have my feet wet. that’s just gross. but anyway, i haven’t planned out yet what my route is going to be, but i have to get a grab of those cheap sansrival from burger machine. hahaha
